It seems crazy to me that people charge so much for computer repair and then offer such bad support, for example telling your customers that "they will loose everything".  If you are a good enough tech then you could offer to back up their files and import things like music, pics and documents, and provide this for extra customer service or even charge a small fee.  Now as far as how much to charge a customer, it shouldn't be real cheap either because people that can help you usually have so much time and experience that they have gained over the years and their knowledge and help for your computer is worth something, just like a doctor, mechanic, plumber is worth it if they are offering a fair price (not to cheap "you get what you pay for" and not to expensive "over charging") for their service.

It is not hard to install RAM, however just like it is not hard to install a battery onto a car or truck either but you may be better off to pay someone (a professional preferably). Because like installing a battery in a vehicle you can damage certain components in the electrical system, same thing with installing RAM memory. You shouldn't need to pay more than $60.00 - $80.00 though + the cost of the memory, but make sure they test the RAM memory to insure that the computer BIOS and O\S recognizes it correctly.

Is your Computer not showing your CD DVD\Drive?  Try removing the upper and lower filters in the registry BE VERY CAREFUL though and don't edit the registry yourself if you do not know exactly what you are doing.

No matter how hard you try to protect your computer from getting virus's on it unfortunately you cannot stop it from happening sooner or later. There are a few things that you can do though to keep your computer cleaned up. One of the main things to do is to get and keep your antivirus software running and updated. Also, I recommend that you run an online virus scan at least once a month, you can google online virus scanners and chose any of the scanners at the top of the search page they are all good, though I like ESET online virus scanner the best. If your computer won't let you scan your system then your operating system probably needs to be reinstalled. Don't forget to back up your important information, doc's, pics, music, or video before you reinstall Windows because you will lose all your stuff if it is not backed up to another hard drive or a flash drive, DVD, or CD ROM.
Or better yet just bring it up here to the shop and I will do everything needed to get your Computer back to the condition it was when it was first built, and at a very resonable price.

Did you know that one of the easiest ways to speed up an older Computer is to add RAM Memory to the Mother Board. Older memory is getting harder to find but will give you a lot more processing speed for your Operating System and even turning on and off your Computer will be a lot faster.

Here on this post I will be letting you in on some tips on how to keep your Computer running like it should.
Disk Defragmenter: When you are using your Computer the hard drive writes files to different places on the hard drive and after a while the hard drive slows down because it takes time to for the hard drive to look for the next piece of information that it needs.
By running a Defragmenter program the like files and the empty space are put back together on the hard drive resulting in a faster running Computer.

One of the 1st signs of a virus or spyware on your computer is if you start seeing ads pop up on your computer while surfing the web. One way to fight or stop a virus or spyware from getting onto your computer is to NOT click on an ad that tells you that your computer is infected with viruses or spyware and asks you to purchase their software to remove them. These are some of the ways that companies or people install a virus on your hard drive. The purchased program will not remove the corupt files from your hard drive but by clicking on the ad the files are automatically installed on your computer.  But if you click the ctrl, alt and delete keys on the keyboard at the same time you will see a task manager window pop up on your monitor and then click on the top program or the application that is showing the ad and then click End Task and the widow should disappear.
